I also have fibromyalgia. When you have fibromyalgia, then you get sick...this causes your painful fibromyalgia symptoms to flair like crazy.
That's the thing about fibromyalgia. Just when you think you have it under control, it rears its ugly head because of some other problem that comes up. How do your pain nodules know that another part of your body is under duress? My airways were closing, yet the pain signals were on red alert, as if every little move made the pain so much worse. I felt like I was going into a pain crisis right in the middle of a breathing crises.
This, of course caused my anxiety to increase. Then I started crying because of all the stress. It was all just too much...and this, I know this is going to be the dumbest thing you have ever heard...and may be the first time I really put myself out there, so be gentle. But, I am a life long smoker. I have tried to quit too many times, I lost count.
My lungs are terrible...I have COPD/emphysema and have been told that if I don't quit smoking I will not live very long...my lungs are fried...and I was crying because I wanted a damn cigarette so bad that I couldn't stand it...there I said it. Isn't that so pathetic?? I feel like screaming because I can't have a damn cigarette.
So now I am home...and yes, I would still give just about anything, yes, including my life, for just 1 puff of a cigarette. I don't know what to do. I am in a very bad place right now and am really need of some support. I will definitely keep everyone updated on this. If anyone has any good tips for quitting smoking, I would love to hear from you because right now, I don't think I can do this.
I used to smoke cigarettes too, and quit 4 years ago. I use those e-cigarettes to help me through some stressful times and it works for me. At least it doesnt have the tar in it but has a low dose of nicotene. Maybe you should try that. I feel for you because it is very hard to quit smoking. Good Luck.

ReplyDeleteAfter much research for E-cigaretter, I have just ordered one off of E-bay. Should receive it within the next couple days...hoping this will help as I have been having such a hard time with this. Thanks for the suggestion!!
